Treasure Craft Survey
Dateline: 08/04/98

Thanks to everyone who submitted answers to the informal Treasure Craft* survey. Also thanks to Mr. Curt Blanchard, VP of Marketing at Treasure Craft, for sponsoring the drawing prize!

Blanchard is a very busy man, but is always gracious in taking time to answer our questions. Of course, I wanted to know what was NEWand exciting at Treasure Craft this week. He talked about the new Snoopy and Woodstock licensed products that will be out in the fall. The cookie jar is a three piece jar, with Snoopy holding a Glass bowl (e.g. Pinocchio jar) and Woodstock nest is the lid on the glass portion. But more good news is that there will be much more than just a cookie jar, lots of go-withs are being produced in the Snoopy/Woodstock line!

Blanchard also relayed information about a licensing agreement just signed this week! A Charlie Chaplin jar - pretty exciting news for movie memorabilia and cookie jar collectors - will be a new addition to their line.

Now back to the survey! The questions were - What was your favorite Vintage Treasure Craft jar and what was your favorite New Treasure Craft Jar. The answers were very interesting and much more varied than I thought would happen.

Since there was going to be a drawing for a Treasure Craft Cookie Jar from entries, it was allowed to answer more than once, but only the first answer went into the results. All subsequent entries were put in the jar for the drawing, but not used to compile the data.

There were several collectors that entered almost as often as they could, Bill Kasting and Merla Davis - when I didn't hear from one of them during the day, I was concerned that they were okay! (VBG)

Results of the Survey:
In the Vintage catagory, it would be too numerous to mention the jars that only received one vote, but those getting several votes include Nanna, Bulldog Cafe, Katrina and Tree of Knowledge jars. The Treasure Craft Pinocchio, (a not-too-vintage) jar was in second place. The favorite Vintage jar by a LARGE margin was the Original Red Pick-Up truck.

In the New jar catagory again, numerous jars were mentioned with only vote, but those garnering several votes include Spice, Howdy Doody, Bonnet Bunny, Dopey and Curious George. Second place in this catagory was the Pink Panther. Most entrants did not specify which one, but a few specified the newest one, so will go with that pick. The favorite New jar by a VERY LARGE margin was Buzz Lightyear!
